• Nicaragua Children’s Foundation (International: West Vancouver, BC)

  The S.I.G.N. Foundation is a registered charity whose main purpose is to help students from all age groups in attending a private elementary school, post secondary education institutes, academies, a private secondary school, or a religious educational institute with the help of scholarships.

• Students for Education, Empowerment and Development (SEED) (International)

  Students for Education, Empowerment and Development (SEED) is a Canadian- and Kenyan-registered charity initiated by a group of students in 2005. Through their scholarship program, SEED provides a bursary to about 150 primary and secondary school students in Kenya and Zambia to cover their school fees.   CLEA is a non-profit organization that provides public legal education services to Manitobans. We believe people must understand the law and the legal system to participate equally in a democratic society.

• Community Legal Education Ontario (CLEO) (Regional: Toronto, ON)

  CLEO strives to provide the information needed by low-income and disadvantaged people to understand and exercise their legal rights. It works with other community legal clinics and agencies to develop and distribute legal information that is accurate and accessible to communities across Ontario.

• Daytrippers Children's Charity (Regional: Toronto, ON)

  A registered nonprofit charity that raises funds to send children from low-income areas in Ontario and beyond on school field trips to recognized educational and cultural institutions. Daytrippers is entirely run by volunteers and 93 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to fund bussing and admission costs for trips.

• Education Beyond Borders (International: North Vancouver, BC)

  Education Beyond Borders is a nonprofit NGO devoted to closing the education divide through teacher professional development and community education. • English Language Tutoring for the Ottawa Community (ELTOC) (Local: Ottawa, ON)

  ELTOC provides home tutoring for adult immigrants who cannot attend regular English programs. Once a week, students receive free, one-on-one instruction in their homes by volunteer tutors. Emphasis is given to practical English skills that allow newcomers to integrate into Canadian life.

  An educational and awareness program that fulfills two purposes. It provides and promotes education, prevention and awareness of various social issues and develops and produces dramatic presentations that will address these social issues in a unique and highly interesting manner.

• Further Education Society (FESA) (Local: Calgary, AB)

  Further Education Society’s vision is to pave the way for lifelong learning opportunities for every person in Canada. FESA has four arms of work: research and curriculum development, training, community outreach and development, and free family literacy programming.

  A registered, charitable organization whose mission is to empower children to think boldly, communicate powerfully, act generously and live joyfully. • Simon Fraser University Seniors Program

  The SFU Seniors Program offers intellectually stimulating and academically challenging courses for adults 55 or better. All courses are held at Harbour Centre in downtown Vancouver, beginning in September, January and May of each year. The program also offers a series of special Free Saturday Seniors Forums, as well as a Canada-wide Outreach Project.

• Society for Educational Visits and Exchanges in Canada (SEVEC) (National: Ottawa, ON)

  SEVEC is a leader in the field of student exchanges and educational travel in Canada.   BTS is a literacy program of Frontier College for street youth and homeless adults in downtown Toronto. • Youth For Understanding Canada

  YFU Canada is a non-profit, charitable, volunteer based organization that provides six-week, semester and year programs for Canadian high school students ages 15 to 18 years. On semester and year programs, students live with a host family and attend school in their host country.

• 2nd Chance Employment Counselling (Local: Guelph, ON)

  Second Chance provides personal, customized services for people who want to find employment or explore their training and career options. They offer specialized services for youth ages 16 - 24, adults over the age of 25, and students with disabilities.

• BUILT Network (Local: Calgary, AB)

  This organization works to empower individuals by providing them with personal and professional skills, in a supportive environment, which leads to increased self-esteem, confidence, and self-reliance. BUILT Network is an employment program aimed at providing participants with skills they will need to be successful in today’s marketplace.

• Canadian Centre for Skills Development (National: Toronto, ON)

  Canadian Centre for Skills Development is a federally incorporated not-for-profit organization established in 2003. It aims to provide high quality training and skills development, including pre-employment preparation and support, career counselling services, literacy and English language programs, all with the objective to lead clients to successful employment. 

• The Career Centre (Regional: Parksville, BC)

  The Career Centre provides employment-related services in Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Nanoose Bay, Bowser, Whiskey Creek, Coombs, and Errington. The organization is a multi-service, nonprofit agency working to assist clients with their job search and career development needs.

• Career Station (National: Ottawa, ON)

  A not-for-profit career and work centre providing career and personal counselling, job search/interview strategies, resume creation and critique, etc.

• Careers That Work (Regional: Saint John, NB)

  The entry page for the four career resource centres that are funded through a partnership of the Department of Post-secondary Education, Training and Labour and School Districts 6 and 8 in the Province of New Brunswick. The centres offer free career and job search resources to all residents in the Fundy Region of New Brunswick.

• City of Toronto's Business Development Centre

  Assists entrepreneurs in the formation and development of enterprises so that those ventures grow into successful job-creating businesses. TBDC provides office suites, business advice, and training for entrepreneurs during the early stages of their businesses.

• Community MicroSkills Development Centre (Regional: Etobicoke, ON)

  A nonprofit organization that provides training, settlement, employment and self-employment services to individuals, with priority to the needs of immigrants, visible minority, low-income people with a specific focus on services to women in Toronto and surrounding areas.

• Enterprise Centre

• Immigrant Services Society of British Columbia (ISS) (Regional: Vancouver, BC)

  Provides settlement, community, English-language training, and employment services to immigrants, refugees, and students in Canada.

• Independent Learning Centre (ILC) (Regional: Toronto, ON)

  The Independent Learning Centre offers a suite of English and French distance education resources to Ontarians of all ages. Our educational services and credit courses enable students to earn a diploma, upgrade skills, and achieve academic and career goals anywhere, anytime, and at their own pace.

• Job Skills (Regional: Toronto, ON)

  Job Skills, a nonprofit community-based employment and training agency, has been offering a variety of employment and business services since 1988. The agency currently has locations serving residents of York/Bradford, Dufferin, Halton, Mississauga, Brampton and Toronto.

• MCC Employment Development (Local: Calgary, AB)

  A community economic development (CED) organization that offers hope and opportunity to people living in poverty. It operates CED programs in four key areas: business development, financial literacy, technology access, and trades training.

• Nokee Kwe Occupational Skill Development Inc. (Regional: London, ON)

  Founded on Aboriginal principles, this organization encourages and supports self-determination and personal development through individualized workplace preparation, life skills and vocational training.

• ONESTeP

  Provides membership and services to nonprofit, community-based training organizations that sponsor projects to help unemployed people prepare for, return to and/or maintain employment. They provide more than 450 programs throughout Ontario to more than 108,000 people annually.

• Ontario Association of Youth Employment Centres (OAYEC)

  Supports and advocates for the development and delivery of youth employment services in Ontario. It has a strong member network of more than 60 youth employment centres across the province.

• Operation Springboard (Regional: Toronto, ON)

  Operation Springboard’s mandate is to build stronger communities by helping youth and adults develop the skills they need to reach their full potential. As a charitable organization, they deliver innovative, professional and diverse programming by establishing partnerships between their clients and their community. Springboard’s program areas include community justice, employment and developmental disability services.

• PTP Job Solutions (Regional: Toronto, ON)

  A nonprofit, free service designed for any literacy or language client who does not have a post secondary education. We offer 1-on-1 or small group support for a client who is actively looking for work, has difficulties with reading, writing and language skills and requires additional support using existing HRDC job search interventions.

• Skills Canada - Ontario (Regional: Kitchener, ON)

  A not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting the development of youth and the prosperity of industry in Ontario. Through its partnerships in education, industry, labour and government, it is helping young people brighten their futures and industry strengthen theirs.

• Skills for Change

  A nonprofit agency providing information and training to immigrants and refugees to assist their entry into the workforce and participation in the wider community.

• St.Catharines Employment Help Centre (Local: St. Catharines, ON)

  Offers employment counselling, resource area, workshops, training subsidies, and programs designed for unemployed and underemployed adults.

• Tradesway

  A gateway for students, educators, community agencies, and other skilled trade stakeholders in Peel region and across Canada to find information on skilled trades, apprenticeship programs, unions, training institutes, government, community colleges, businesses, and job search sites.

• Tradeworks Training Society

  A non-profit society dedicated to providing unemployed youth at risk with job and life skills training and support to secure employment. TRADEWORKS is located in Vancouver's downtown eastside where many of its clients live. Our aim is to provide youth with skills, training and knowledge to enhance their quality of life and foster sustainable independence.

• Turning Point (Regional: Richmond Hill, ON)

  Turning Point is a youth employment initiative providing outreach and support in Southern York Region. Youth employment advisors assist youth (ages 15-30) to develop short and long term education and employment goals into a realistic and manageable plan, while providing individualized support along the way to achieving these goals.

• Vermilion/YWCA Skills Training Centre (Local: Calgary, AB)

  The Vermilion/YWCA Skills Training Centre in Calgary empowers women in search of a better future. Through a 16-week pre-employment and pre-apprenticeship training program, students gain the skills and confidence they need for a career in Calgary’s high-demand construction industry. Trainees may also qualify for a living wage, housing and childcare.

• WALL Network (National: Toronto, ON)

  The cumulative research generated by the WALL research network will provide a better understanding of current learning practices, processes and environments, and contribute to the production of valuable resources for instructor training, workplace innovation and government initiatives.

• Women's Enterprise Skills Training

  WEST is a non-profit registered Canadian charity located in Windsor, Ontario that exists to provide training for severely employment disadvantaged visible minority women in order to improve their employability in the workforce or to further their education.
